Activities — What you can do:

Siva Yoga Sādhana

A devotional and contemplative practice centerred on Lord Shiva, integrating discipline of body, breath, and awareness. Siva Yoga Sādhana supports steady inner alignment through practice, ritual, and remembrance, grounding spiritual understanding in daily life.

Samaya Kuravar

A traditional Shaiva approach that emphasizes personal discipline, ethical living, and inner worship. Samaya Kuravar focuses on cultivating devotion and awareness through conduct, observance, and lived commitment rather than outer display.

Shaiva Siddhanta Santhana Kuravar

Rooted in the Shaiva Siddhanta tradition, this path integrates devotion, ritual practice, and philosophical understanding. Santhana Kuravar reflects the continuity of lineage, guiding seekers through disciplined practice supported by scripture and temple worship.

Girivalam (Sacred Parikrama)

Girivalam, the sacred circumambulation of Arunachala Hill, is traditionally undertaken on each full moon. In the early hours of the morning, devotees gather at the Arunachaleswarar Temple around 4:30 AM to begin the 14-kilometer barefoot walk, which typically takes three to four hours to complete.

Along the path are the eight Ashtalingams, each positioned to face a cardinal or intercardinal direction: Indralingam, Agnilingam, Yamalingam, Niruthilingam, Varunalingam, Vayulingam, Kuberlingam, and Esanyalingam. These sacred lingams represent the elemental guardians of the directions and are believed to bestow specific blessings upon those who complete the Girivalam with devotion.

This ancient practice is both a physical pilgrimage and a contemplative journey, inviting participants to walk in remembrance, humility, and surrender.
